47 Years of Passion - in every Gaucho's heart.


It's rare to see the fire pit is always on, dishes ready to be served and complete wait staff at any time of the day in Porto Alegre, but not at Restaurant Barranco. It's our routine. The fact we're always open is enough to justify our audience, making us a favorite spot for many locals. Once we've got the facts straight, our biggest differential is the quality of our products.

Both owners Elson Furini and Chico Tasca are always searching for the best products for your table; they don't cut corners. "We are constantly looking for not only the best products, but also for the best procedures." Innovation and Professionalism are in practice for a long time. Our team of 90 employees is honing skills at Sebrae most of the year, especially taking the Good Manufacturing Practices courses. We've also gone through a major space renovation in 2005, making sure we'd have the best settings. Besides our interiors, we've expanded the parking lot to accommodate over 280 vehicles.

Food safety and high quality products attract our audience. In our latest renovations, we're upgraded many equipment to better prepare our meals. We are also the first restaurant to partner with the Brazilian Angus Association and Mercosur Abattoir. It increased the number of orders by 50%.

More than the best Steakhouse in town, Churrascaria Barranco serves as a meeting point in a large democracy. Politics, entrepreneurs, artists, journalists, and other social organizations are always gathering at our tables. It all comes under a privileged venue: adults can enjoy a cold draft beer and appetizers, while their children play outside, all under the historic trees.

Besides being a perfect place for social celebrations, many business meetings happen here. As time goes by, Churrascaria Barranco has been a perfect landscape for many stories. In fact, there are so many we can't keep up with the count. We don't publicize all of them so our regulars don't get offended. This is what makes us special to all: discretion. We don't have an official "Hall of Fame" in the restaurant; to us, every client is as important as a celebrity. We make sure all our clients receive a VIP treatment.

Our goal of a Steakhouse with an excellent reputation has been achieved over the years. For many, it is considered an institution. Many choose the venue for their Graduation or Wedding celebrations. Even to watch their Soccer Teams win/lose. Many tourists have a "mandatory" stop at our restaurant; it's become an "Embassy" for meat lovers. The hospitality industry usually influences the visitors on their first visit; the second happens automatically - usually a telephone call away from the airport.
